Willie Mae Fry

Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Mae Fry, age 98, lifelong resident of Dodd City, Texas, will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the Wise Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham.  Pastor Mike Haney will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Dodd City Cemetery.  Mrs. Fry passed away on Saturday evening at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.

Willie Mae was born on September 22, 1924 in Fannin County, Texas, the daughter of Russell McCormack and Emma Kizer McCormack.  She was a graduate of Dodd City High School and married Monroe Fry on January 31, 1946 in Bonham and he preceded her in death on November 7, 2003.  She was preceded in death by her sisters, Madeline McCormack, Bertha Lee Stevens, and Dorothy Nell McCormack and half-sister Ima Keel.  She was of the Methodist faith.  She enjoyed working in her yard and garden and ironing for the community.

She is survived by her son Teddy Ray Fry and his wife Edith of Dodd City, daughter, Sarah Jane Vaughn and husband Donald of Paris, brother, Bill McCormack, Grandchildren, Rebekah Vaughn, Bethany and her husband Garrett Vick, Benjamin Vaughn and his wife Morghan, Daniel Vaughn, Hannah Flanary and her husband Ryan, Kristy Englutt and her husband Micky, Kelly Wilson and her fiance' Gerald Chaffin; great grandchildren, Daylen Wilson, Gunnar Wilson, Trevin Wilson, Harley Jo Chaffin, Breyer and Dixie Chaffin, Blake and Brody Agerlid, Lainey and Lily Englutt, Leeland and Caleb Vaughn, Halleigh,  Abel, and Micah Flanary and nephews, Richard Stevens and his wife Becky, and Donald Keel extended family and host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Gunnar Wilson, Trevin Wilson, Daniel Vaughn, Benjamin Vaughn, Garrett Vick and Ryan Flanary. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnnie Mills and Paul Kyle.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00  pm until service time, Thursday, January, 26, 2023.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dodd City Baptist Church Youth Fund.
