William Edward "Willie" Washerlesky

A funeral Mass for William Edward "Willie" Washerlesky, 92, of the Lannius Community of Fannin County, will be held at 2:30 PM, Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Bonham under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Pastor Arturo J. Molina will officiate. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Willie passed Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham.

Willie was born December 8, 1921 in Brenham, Texas, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Frank Bernie Washerlesky. He was a graduate of Brenham High School and attended Blinn College in Brenham. Willie, an energetic young man, had excellent work ethics and began his career at an early age. He received his first car at age 9 and made money driving a doctor to house calls. Willie was a US Army veteran of WWII and served as an MP. He married Pearl Adams on Feb. 14, 1941 in Brenham, Texas, and she preceded him in death Apr. 22, 1992. Willie played semi-pro baseball and was a true leader. He was employed with the Bonham Cotton Mill for many years and later the Princeton Builders Supply. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed raising white-tailed deer. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a son, William Edward "Buck" Washerlesky.

Willie is survived by his daughter, Pat Coppini and husband, Henry of Dallas, Texas; daughter-in-law, Janet Weber and husband, Mike of Bonham, Texas; three grandchildren, Jeff Washerlesky and wife, Susan, David Washerlesky and wife, Angie, and Bill Washerlesky and wife, Tina; eight great grandchildren, Makenzie, Ryleigh, Ashley, Dylan, David, Alyssa, Caitlin and Caden and two great great grandchildren, Braiden and Jacob.

A wake will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Online guest register www.wisefuneralhome.com
