Funeral services for William Pressley "Press" Cox, 52, of Bonham, will be held at 4:00 PM Sat., June 3, 2017 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Mark Posey and Odelle Bruce will officiate. Burial to follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, Texas. Press passed away Wednesday night, May 31, 2017 in Bonham, Texas from heart failure.

Press was born Dec. 25, 1964 in Bonham, Texas, the son of Billy Charles Cox and Bobbie Jean Carroll Cox. He was a 1983 graduate of Bonham High School and attended East Texas State University. He married Patricia Ann Woodard on July 8, 1989 in Bonham.

Press was a curious person from the day he was born until the day he died. As a young child he was constantly asking questions and learning as much as he could about any and everything. He carried that attribute into his adult years. Press was always the one who could determine the most efficient and least costly way to accomplish any project. His curiosity led him to travel extensively in the US, Mexico and Canada. He tried out for game shows and flew to Chicago and back in one day to take Patricia and his children to experience Chicago pizza. He was known for bargain shopping, cooking (especially trying to figure out how a restaurant made a dish), Eula May fruitcake, auctions, and most recently gardening and collecting clear crystal.

Press was a member of Living Word Church of God. He lived out his faith by helping others – acting as an advocate and a mentor. He was also community-minded, serving on the Bonham ISD School Board and the Fannin County Appraisal District Board.

Press was quite the entrepreneur and might even be considered a modern day horse trader. He was well-known in Bonham for many years with his Discount Outlet store. He was employed with American Airlines, and was CEO of Pressley Cox Transportation. Whether it was a house renovation that he would eventually flip, building storage units, or opening a car wash, he always had a project underway. Currently he was putting the finishing touches on an RV park that he was developing in Ector.

Press loved his family unconditionally and passionately. He and his wife Patricia were inseparable and she was always supportive of his many projects. Known as Pappy to his grandchildren, they were the sparkle of his life and he was the ultimate to them. The wisdom, guidance and leadership that he provided to his family, many friends, and business ventures will be forever missed.

Press was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Tommy Harrison, Jon Rockhold, friend Jack Berni, and brother-in-law Richard Woodard.
