WILLIAM "BILL" NOWLIN
Funeral services for William Hunter 'Bill' Nowlin, 84, of Ivanhoe, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Phil Smith and Mike Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow at 12:00 noon in Thompson Cemetery near Copeville, Texas.
Bill was born Dec. 23, 1926 in Copeville, Texas, the son of Lonnie Darwood Nowlin and Gladys Inez Teague Nowlin. He was a 1944 graduate of Bonham High School and a US Navy veteran of WWII. Bill married Mary Elizabeth Todd, July 2, 1966, and she preceded him in death, Nov. 1, 2010. He was a line tech for General Cable for a number of years before retiring. A member of the Polled Hereford Association, Bill enjoyed working on his farm and fishing. He lived every day to the fullest and enjoyed his family very much. He was a member of Ivanhoe Church of Christ. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bobby Nowlin and a sister, Joyce Sanford.

3 Sons, Danny Nowlin (Elizabeth "Stacey") and Keith Nowlin (Johnna) all of Sherman, TX, and Douglas Nowlin (Denice) of Denison, TX,
Daughter, Belinda Nowlin of Missouri,Sisters, Betty McCreight of Longview, TX, and Sondra Cannon of Friendswood, TX,
9 Grandchildren, Scott Nowlin, John Nowlin, David Nowlin, Dana Nowlin, Jennifer Nowlin, Rebecca Nowlin, Tina Caster, Tammy Lewallen and Brian Lewallen
11 great grandchildren
A number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Nowlin, Scott Nowlin, John Nowlin, Jason Johnson, Brandon Caster and Andrew Smith.
