William "Bill" Edward Purcell

William "Bill" Edward Purcell passed away on July 21, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born on August 3,1949 to parents Edward and Rosemary Purcell in Hamilton, Ohio. Bill had a love for his country and  put that love in action by joining the United States Air Force. Bill had a passion for flying and this led to his lifelong career as a commercial pilot. He married the love of his life, Melanie, on March 8,1980. Bill will be fondly remembered for his generous spirit, athletic ability, and patriotism. Bill loved family above all else and his legacy of faith and family will live on in his children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by parents, Edward and Rosemary Purcell.

Those left to cherish his memory, wife, Melanie Purcell, daughters, Emily Edington (Curt), Ruth Sawkins (Phillip), Susan Purcell, Beth Purcell, son, James Purcell (Nichole), grandchildren, Anna Edington, Heidi Edington, Drew Sawkins, Wesley Sawkins, Charlotte Sawkins, and Baby Purcell due in December.

Please join the family to celebrate the life of Bill on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Boyd Baptist Church with the service starting at 4:00pm. After the service the family invites you to stay for light refreshments and fellowship.
