Funeral services for James Wesley Tanner, 91, of Ivanhoe, will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 25, 2011 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Bro Chris Littrell and Bro James Rogers will officiate. Burial will follow in Duplex Cemetery. Wesley passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at Seven Oaks Nursing & Rehab in Bonham.

Wesley was born January 26, 1920 in Ivanhoe, Texas, the son of John Burtram Tanner and Iva D. Bonham Tanner. He married Edna Earl Barber, April 12, 1941 in Achille, OK, and she preceded him in death April 24, 2010. Wesley was a member and deacon of Duplex Baptist Church for many years. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. Wesley was the caretaker of Duplex Cemetery and enjoyed playing dominoes. He was a director for Fannin County Electric Co-Op. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John B. Tanner, and two sisters, Neomia Nelson and Juanita Tanner.

Edna Mae Eskue of Bonham, TX,
Alma Cagle of Arlington, TX
Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Odom, Directors of Fannin County Electric Co-Op and deacons of Duplex Baptist Church.
