WELDON NICHOLS
Funeral services for Weldon Nichols, 87, of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 23, 2011 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Gene Owen and Rev. Claude Robbins will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Moores Chapel Cemetery. Weldon passed away early Friday, May 20, 2011 at Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham.
Weldon was born August 24, 1923 in Gober, Texas, the son of Homer L. Nichols and Ruby Warnell Nichols. He was a graduate of Gober High School. He was a US Army veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific Theater with the 44th General Hospital medical detachment. Weldon married Lyda Atnip, June 1, 1946 in Bonham, and she preceded him in death, April 9, 2011. Weldon was a retired traffic control manager for General Cable and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He was a 60 year member of Constantine Masonic Lodge #13 in Bonham, and also a member of the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ricky Nichols (Iris) of Denison, TX,
2 Sisters-in-law, Edna Collins of Bonham, TX and
Betty McSpedden of Carrollton, TX,
5 Grandchildren, Michael Nichols, Tammy Woods, Amy Williams, Melody Jaffrey, and Tiffany Powell
7 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Michael Nichols, Joe Powell, Eddie Brister, Randy Warnell, William Collins and Ray Atnip. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Nutt, James Wood, Charles Atnip, John Atnip and John Collins.
