Violet Louise Murphey

Memorial Services were held for Violet Louise Murphey, age 85, of Ravenna, Texas. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Violet passed away Thursday morning, January 7, 2021 at home in Ravenna, Texas lovingly surrounded by family.

Violet was born on April 5, 1935 in Yuba, Oklahoma, the daughter of Glen Troy Hamby and Rose Ann Smith Hamby. She was an animal lover and enjoyed her time with her furry friends. Violet, most of all, loved her family, especially her sons and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Norman Hamby, Glen Hamby, and Bill Hamby; sisters, Juanita Miller and Roseanne Johnston.

Violet is survived by sons, James Murphey of Ravenna, Texas, Glenn Murphey of Little Elm, Texas, and Jerry Murphey and wife Susan of Ravenna, Texas; sister, Doris Durham and husband Perry of Bonham, Texas; brother, Ernest Hamby and wife Glenda of Yuba, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
