Graveside services for Towana Belle Furrh, 84, of Hugo, Oklahoma, formerly of Bonham, Texas will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, Aug. 22, 2014 in Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Bro. Rex Jackson will officiate. Towana passed away Sunday afternoon, Aug. 17, 2014 at the Baptist Village in Hugo, Oklahoma.
Towana was born, Feb. 17, 1930 in Lindsey, Oklahoma, the daughter of Zoolo Carr and Mytle Mae Oxford Carr. She was a graduate of Dibble High School in Dibble, Oklahoma. Towana married Lemuel Christopher Furrh on Dec. 21, 1945 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and he preceded her in death on July 12, 1999. She was a member of Boyd Baptist Church for many years prior moving to Oklahoma where she was a member of First Baptist Church in Antlers, OK. Towana was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Zoolo Carr, Jr., Burl Wayne Carr, Garten Carr and Marvin D. Carr; and four sisters, Anna Mae McGee, Essie Dee Ward, Myrl Hawkins and Joyce Marie Yandell.
Towana is survived by two sons, Lemuel Christopher "Chris" Furrh and wife, Trenna of Bonham, Texas and Leo Furrh of Colbert, Oklahoma; two daughters, Deborah "Debbie" Campbell of Durant, Oklahoma and
Donna Wilkerson and husband, Willard of Antlers, Oklahoma; three
brothers, Hershel Carr of California, Ronnie Carr of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Donnie Carr of Purcell, Oklahoma; one sister, Viola Willoughby of Bokoshe, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Neese, Gage Wenciker, Charles Petty, Leo Furrh, Jr., Monte Furrh, Shawn Campbell and Jacob Furrh.
