Memorial Services for Tim Ray Detwiler, age 67, of Bonham, TX will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Congregational Methodist Church in Bonham, TX, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Tim passed away on June 28, 2017 at his residence.
He was born August 1, 1949 in Paducah, Texas to WF Detwiler and Todie Detwiler Decker Schoen. Tim was a 1967 graduate of Paducah High School and during his life he worked a variety of jobs. He was a ranch hand for the 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, Texas in the late 1960's to mid 70's and later worked for Jimmy Dean as a general manager of the Plainview hog farms in Plainview, Texas. He also worked with the Texas Extension Services in the 70's where he designed and built the first broadcast cotton stripper. He owned and operated several farming and ranching operations across Texas and Colorado and did receipt and embryo transfer work for the Boer goats in the late 90's and was the Fannin County Sheep and Goat superintendent from 1996-2005. He was a cancer survivor for over 25 years.
Tim was preceded in death by his, parents, WF Detwiler & Todie Detwiler Schoen (Captoila) and Daughter, Missy Detwiler, Brothers, WF, Jr. and Gary Wayne Detwiler.
Surviving are his wife of almost 36 years, Susan Detwiler of the home; sons, Sons and Daughter-in-laws; Chad and Larissa Detwiler of Childress, Texas; Scott and Kellee Detwiler of Garvin Oklahoma; Joseph and Katlin Detwiler of Bonham, Texas; grandchildren, Asypen Hess of Amarillo, Texas; Saydee and Tuck Detwiler of Childress, Texas; Abbigale Detwiler of Garvin Oklahoma; (and a baby grandson on the way Joseph Ray Detwiler) sisters, Syble Wofford of Paducah, Texas, Betty and Delray Mckeehan of Lewisville, Texas; Robin Detwiler of Beaumont, Texas and Janet Mullins of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brothers, Randy Detwiler of Paducah, Texas; In-laws, Jim and Mickey Stueck of Moore Park California, and Larry and Cheryl Jones of Whitesboro, Texas; Hank and Denise Spruce of Honey Grove, Texas
