Thomas Franklin Murphy

Graveside services with military honors for Mr. Thomas "Tom" Franklin Murphy Sr., age 77, of Dodd City, Texas will be held at 10:15 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home in Bonham, Texas.  Tom passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.

Tom was born on February 12, 1943 in Wylie, Texas, the son of Opal Lee Murphy and Nellie Juanita Bardin Murphy.  He served in the United States Army from 1962-1964.  He enjoyed going to Choctaw and playing pool.  Tom was an employee for the Montgomery Elevator Company for many years.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vernon Murphy and sister, Imogene Bellamy.

Tom is survived by:

Sons, Thomas Murphy Jr. and Eric Murphy and daughter, Peggy Lynn Olive,

Brothers, J.P. Murphy, Billy Murphy, Lonnie Murphy, Ken Murphy and Bobby Murphy

Sisters, Judy Page, Brenda Murphy, Betty Wooten, and Shirley Murphy

Numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.
