Steven Michael Hamilton was born on October 12, 1961 in Indianapolis, Indiana to James Esta Hamilton & Betty Joan (Jones). He was the youngest child. He had an older sister, Cathy Van Winkle, and older brother, Thomas Hamilton. Steven loved and treasured his family, but above all he treasured his relationship with Jesus. His faith was the foundation of his life. He passed away on November 1, 2025 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison surrounded by his loving family.
He married the love of his life, Vonda, on June 2, 2006 on a beach in Hawaii. Upon their marriage, Steven became the father of Andres (20), Selah (11), and Cloudi (10). He embraced being a girl dad, and he made childhood fun by building Selah and Cloudi a tree house in the backyard, telling the most elaborate bedtime stories, and taking the family camping, which soon became a treasured annual family tradition.
Steven and Vonda enjoyed 16 years of marriage together. They balanced each other nicely. Steven helped fulfill the mission of Expressions of Emmanuel by filming, editing, and handling the technical side of things. They created a home of peace with an open door policy. Their home was constantly full of people, and they were always ready to help someone in need.
Together, Steven and Vonda were quite the ministry team. They traveled across the United States, and Steven was able to check off visiting all 50 states. They traveled internationally doing mission work in Mexico, Philippines, Japan, and many more countries.
Steve had a dry sense of humor and incredible wit. He could make a joke and pull it off with a straight face; he was insanely talented at doing funny voices. Steven was great at videography, editing, photography and developing his own pictures. Steven really enjoyed going camping, shooting, and working with his hands to create beautiful works of art. Steven was incredibly gifted in many areas. He taught his girls how to do archery, and he built a setup in the backyard to practice with. He also taught Selah how to shoot guns, and he taught Cloudi how to build and repair things in his shop. Steven took his responsibility seriously to care for the family home which was over 100 years old and a true fixer upper. He never ran out of things to do around the home, and Cloudi was his faithful assistant and student. They had a special bond. Steven was a good friend to many. He befriended a variety of people, and he cared deeply. He faithfully helped care for his mother-in-law and his father alongside his wife in his own home.
After his birth in 1961, his family moved from Indianapolis to Lafayette in 1963. As a teenager he and his dad built a huge 8-10 ft wooden Half-pipe for skateboarding in the backyard where he and his friends did amazing runs. He graduated from Jefferson high school. He helped his parents build a 3 story log home on 7 acres of woods outside of Dayton Indiana while they lived in a Winnebago on the property.
He attended Vincennes University Indiana where he was on the Dean's List. He graduated in Television Production. He was commercial Director of Channel 18 WLFI in West Lafayette. He won an award from the city for a claymation commercial for CityBus of Greater Lafayette that he and a coworker had produced and made figures for.

He moved to Sherman TX to work in broadcasting, commercials. He served in the Texas State Guard. He wrote, produced and directed a movie based on actual events titled "Am I Cursed?" He was videographer for the movie "Chalk."
He moved back to Lafayette in 2004 to care for his father, a widower. There he started a Wedding Videography company.
The following year he moved back to TX to do filming for Vonda's ministry with the Deaf, Expressions of Emmanuel and got married 6 months after meeting Vonda.
At the passing of his wife, Vonda, his first grandchild, Nehemiah, was a great comfort to him. They had a special bond that brought Steven immense joy as they lived in the same home for a couple years, alongside Selah and Nate. His youngest granddaughter was born two months before Steven passed. She was given his namesake. She is named Stevie Harper in honor of Steve Hamilton, and she was born to his youngest daughter, Cloudi Richardson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vonda Hamilton and his parents, James Esta Hamilton & Betty Joan (Jones), and his mother-in law, Glenda Bland.
He is survived by: his daughters, Selah and son-in-love, Nathan Massey, Cloudi and son-in-law, James Richardson, and his son, Andres Burnett.
