Funeral services for Stanley Roger Dodson, 85, of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 PM Sat., Sept. 6, 2014 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jerry Clements and Chad Neely will officiate. Burial will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery. Stanley passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 2, 2014 at Texas Health Presbyterian – WNJ in Sherman, TX.
Stanley was born August 1, 1929 in the Tulip Community of Fannin County, Texas, the son of Albert Dennis Dodson and Christine Graves Dodson. He attended Tulip Schools and was a 1948 graduate of Bonham High School. Stanley was a US Army veteran and a member of Boyd Baptist Church. He married Lee Frances Fogle on December 15, 1962 in Bonham, Texas. He drove a delivery truck for the Borden Milk Company in Dallas for a number of years before moving to Bonham. Stanley was employed with General Cable Corporation for 34 years before retiring. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Savoy, Texas. He and Frances enjoyed vacationing with her brother and sister-in-law, Richard & Zella and their family. Stanley loved spending time with his family and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Vertis Dodson, Dennis Dodson, Tobe Dodson and Ward Dodson, one sister, Nadine Hopkins, five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and his youngest daughter, Rhonda Dodson Lantz.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Lee Frances Dodson of Bonham, Texas;
sons, Alan Dodson of Fort Worth, Texas and Jackie D. Goodwin and wife, Regina of Bonham, Texas; daughters, Phyllis Dodson Ceglia and husband, Tom of Durango, Colorado, Terry Dodson Bailey and husband, Bob of Walnut Creek, California, and Mary Lou Reynolds and husband, Danny of Denison, Texas; brothers, Clifford Dodson and wife, Katherine of Mineola, Texas and Lloyd Dodson of Bonham, Texas; son-in-law, Ralph Lantz of Port Aransas, Texas; brothers-in-law, Richard Fogle and wife, Zella of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Bobby Stewart of Hot Springs, Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Lavon Howell of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Wynonah Fogle of Telephone, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Neely and wife, Morgan, Chad Neely and wife, Michelle, Leslie Caster and husband, Donald, Taylor Stevens, Doris Whitworth and husband, Charlie, Lea Dawnette Faulkner and husband, Shon, Debra Thomas and husband, Jim, Casey Reynolds, and Keri D. Goodwin; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson
Numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Alan Dodson, Michael Neely, Chad Neely, Bob Bailey, Tom Ceglia and Matt Brannum.
