Shirley Ann Barnes

Funeral services for Shirley Ann Barnes, 86, of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 6, 2022 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Mike Burt will officiate.  Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.  Shirley passed away Monday night, May 2, 2022, peacefully at home.

Shirley was born January 4, 1936, the daughter of Harold F. Fitzwater and Rose Edith Justice Fitzwater.  She was a graduate of Bonham High School.  Shirley married Charles Gray Barnes, Sr. on Feb. 10, 1956, in Dallas, Texas.  She was a dedicated caregiver and was employed as a home health nurse with Outreach Health Care for many years.  Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.    She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Charles Gray "Chuck" Barnes, Jr.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles Gray Barnes, Sr. of Bonham. Her sister, Betty Purser of Arlington, TX. A son, Kevin Barnes and his wife Melissa Barnes of Rockwall, TX. Many grandchildren including Mark Barnes and wife Jessica, Kelsey Barnes, Alexis Britton, John Britton, Ryan Barnes, Caitlyn Sorrells and husband Michael, and Dillon Barnes.  She was also blessed with several great grandchildren Veronica Barnes, Darby Barnes, Madelyn Sorrells, Aubrey Sorrells, Jaden Barnes, and Peyton Barnes.

Pallbearers will be Mark Barnes, John Britton, Ryan Barnes, Dillon Barnes, Vinnie Barton and Bobby Barton.
