Sheryl Lynne Manis

Funeral Services for Sheryl Lynne Manis, age 63, of Bonham, Texas will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 7 ^th and Main Baptist Church in Bonham, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Bro. Cody Nelson will officiate. Burial will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, Texas. Sheryl passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in McKinney, Texas.

Sheryl was born on May 25, 1959, in Bonham, Texas, the daughter of George Ray McDonald and Margie Wynell Miles McDonald Thomas Allen. She married MAJ James Ray Manis (Ret) on February 2, 1979 at Trinity Baptist Church in Bonham, Texas. They were married 43 years prior to her passing. Sheryl worked for Blue Cross  Blue Shield and Trailblazers for over 35 years. She worked for The 336th District Court, for a time. She entered the Political World and ran for the Fannin County 336th District Court Clerk Race.  She was a Professional witness in US Federal Court in Medicare Cases. She was a Military Wife for 40 years 6 months. Sheryl was a formidable woman. The loss to her family is immeasurable. She was the glue that held everyone together. Sheryl loved her family dearly. She will be most ardently missed. Sheryl is preceded in death by her Father and Stepfathers.

Sheryl is survived by her Mother, Margie Allen of Bonham, Texas; Husband, Major James R Manis (Ret) of Bonham, Texas; sons, Christopher Manis of Bonham, Texas and Jamie Manis and wife Tiffany of Bybee, Tennessee; daughter, Tara Manis of Bonham, Texas; brothers, Ronald McDonald of Manchester, Tennessee and Michael Thomas and wife Peggy; sisters, April McDonald of Blossom, Texas and De'Quita Engelke and husband Ronnie of Sherman, Texas; sister-in-law, Judy Stepp of Talbott, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kenton Manis, Alvin Ransom, Kayla Manis and Partner Felipe Tanco, Kandie Bush and Partner Myrick Chriesman, Kasha Bush and Partner Chris Mowrey, Mack Manis, Colby Manis, Cayden Brown, and Jayda Crunk; great grandchildren, A'Miyah Cooper, A'Kari Rodriquez, A'Kai Tanco, Alayja Tanco, Millionna Chriesman, Ka'Mari Mowrey, Elisia Chriesman, Adeylnn Ransom, and Hannah Trimm; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, extended family, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Kenton Manis, Troy McDonald, Micheal Partridge, Damien Reed, Phillip Simpson, Jeremy Hawkins,  Zach Lorance and Brodie Spindle.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Manis, Robert Atchley, Bruce Bodine, Ray Calhoun, Colby Manis, Jamie Manis, Mack Manis, Ronald McDonald, Kevin Overby, and A'Kari Rodriquez.

The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
