Funeral services for Sheila Mae Preston, 47, of Bonham, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Corinth Baptist Church under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Jesus Contreras will officiate. Burial will follow in Sandy Cemetery. Sheila passed away Tuesday night, July 1, 2014 at Texas Health Plano.
Sheila was born April 9, 1967 in Rockwall, Texas, the daughter of Vernon Preston Edwards and Martha Jane (Edwards) Edwards. She was a high school graduate and attended San Edwards University in Austin, Texas and the University of Phoenix online. She was a computer tech with Dell Computers and was studying to be a writer. Sheila was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, playing games on the computer and phone and watching "Criminal Minds" on TV. She loved her Chihuahua, Little Bit. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Roy Edwards and sister, Brenda Edwards.
Sheila is survived by two sons, Richard Preston of Trenton, Texas and
Preston Carter of Bryan, Texas; two brothers, Joe Wayne Edwards of Ardmore, Oklahoma and Owen Edwards of Rowlett, Texas; three sisters, Carolyn Hookins of Bonham, Texas, Barbara Malakowsky of Antlers, Oklahoma and Wanda Poindexter of Trenton, Texas; one grandson, Ben Mendrick; former spouse and special friend, Chuck Preston of Taylor, Texas.
