Sharon L
Russell
September 12, 1943 – June 9, 2026
Sharon L. Russell, born on September 12, 1943, and passing away on June 9, 2026, to Ruth and Charles Jenkins. Sharon was a loving, gentle, and kind woman whose life was marked by devotion to her family, quiet strength, and a deep and steady spirit of care for those around her. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.
Sharon was a homemaker and housewife whose life was centered on creating a warm and welcoming home. She worked at a shirt factory in Glenn Falls and Bonham, where she applied her diligence and dependable work ethic. She was also an accomplished seamstress whose hands were skilled in the art of sewing, and she took great pride in making blankets, quilts, crochet crafts, and doylies. Her work was never done for recognition, but rather from a sincere desire to care for others and to make life more beautiful for her family.
Family was always at the heart of Sharon’s life. She was family minded in every sense and gave generously of herself to those she loved. She raised four children on her own with little to no support, meeting each challenge with courage, dedication, and perseverance. Her life was a testament to what can be accomplished through hard work, faithfulness, and an unwavering commitment to one’s children. She carried her responsibilities with grace and strength, and her example left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Sharon was known not only for her many talents, but also for her loving and sincere nature. She had a gentle way about her that made others feel comforted and cared for. Her kindness was evident in the way she treated people, and her love was shown through the many hours she spent baking, sewing, and creating things by hand for the people she held dear. She found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life, and she shared that joy freely with her family.
Among the many memories her loved ones will cherish are the times spent attending music concerts together. Sharon loved to be with her family and to enjoy those special occasions that brought everyone together. There is no service scheduled at this time.
She is preceded in death by first husband, James Dumas, second husband, Donald Russell, daughter, Shiela Wood, grandson, Dakota Brown, sister, Shirley Stevenson, brothers, Robert Jenkins, Dave Jenkins, Ben Jenkins and Robert Jenkins.
Sharon is survived by Sheena Brown, Billy Dumas, Joseph Dumas (Cindy), Dexter Jenkins (Robin), and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
