Funeral service and burial for Sandra E. Newton Hall, age 72, of Garland, will be held graveside on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 10am at Moore's Chapel in Bonham, TX with Paster, and cousin, Jerry Newton officiating. Mrs. Hall passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center (Faith Presbyterian Hospice) in Dallas.

Sandy was born on October 13, 1951, in Bonham, TX to the late Max Leslie Newton and Lily Sinor Newton of Bonham, TX. She graduated from Bonham High School, attended Grayson County Community College, and later finished her associate's degree as a paralegal at Austin Community College in Austin, TX. She married Michael Gene Merrell from 1972 to 1980 and had two daughters, Christy and Rebecca. Sandy held a multi-year successful career working in the healthcare industry credentialing physicians and other clinicians for hospital/clinic privileges.

In 1991, on a blind date, Sandy met the love of her life, Kinneth D. Hall. They married September 1991, and have celebrated 33 years of wedding anniversaries. Her second love was the art of scrapbooking. She was known for blessing family members with beautifully crafted memory books. She was lifelong member of the Church of Christ and found her home in several congregations. These are Northside Church of Christ in Bonham, TX, Westover Hills Church of Christ in Austin, TX, Highland Oaks Church of Christ in Dallas, TX, and most recently Eastridge Church of Christ in Rockwall, TX.

Survivors are her husband, Kinneth D. Hall of Garland, TX; two daughters, Christy Mercado and husband Pedro, of Dickinson, TX, Rebecca Jones and husband, Calvin, of Garland, TX; one son, Casey Hall, and wife Raye, of Greenville, TX; three grandsons, John Jones, Gage Jones, and Marcus Mercado; two granddaughters, Sofia Mercado and Destiny Hall; and three great-grandsons, John Calvin, Jaxon, and Jace.

Sandy was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel L. Newton, and a sister, Sharon M. Dearing.

The family will hold a memorial service for Sandy at Eastridge Church of Christ in Rockwall, TX on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 6pm.
