Funeral services for Samuel Sidney "Sam" Tredway, 64, of Garland, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, Texas. Sam passed away from heart failure on Monday, January 6, 2014 at Baylor Medical Center at Garland.
Sam was born December 7, 1949 in Bonham, Texas, the son of H. C. "Dick" Tredway and Lois May Tredway. He was a decorated Sergeant in the US Marine Corps, a veteran of Viet Nam honorably discharged in 1974. Sam subsequently worked for and retired from the City of Dallas in 2012. Following retirement, he worked part-time for Southwest KIA of Mesquite. He enjoyed spending his retirement time with his two grandsons, Jayden and Christopher Day. Sam was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Eddie Albert Tredway (1997) and H. C. "Dick" Tredway, Jr. (2003).
Sam is survived by his son, Bryan Tredway of Garland, Texas, daughter, Christina Day and husband, Jason of Garland, Texas,
mother, Lois Tredway of Richardson, Texas, grandsons, Jayden Day and Christopher Day,
nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hamilton, Tommy Tovar, George Florez, Gary Dooley, Mike McClatchey and Leslie Holden. Honorary pallbearers will be Jayden Day, Christopher Day and Barry Tredway.
