Rev. Sammie Lee Holloway Sr.

Funeral Services for Rev. Sammie Lee Holloway Sr., age 82, of Bonham Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 21, 2022 at New Home Baptist Church under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gates Hill Cemetery. Sammie passed away Monday, January 10, 2022.

Sammie was born July 18, 1939, the son of Rev. Jamison Holloway and Sallie Gooden-House.
He accepted the Lord at an early age. He was a retired farmer and pastored several churches in the panhandle and north Texas before uniting with New Home Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and working on cars and lawn equipment in his free time.    Sammie is preceded in death by sisters; Mrs. Erma Jean Holloway Jennings, Lillie Pearl Holloway Gray, Beverly Ann House, Felicia Jean House, daughter, Sheila Holloway, Brothers; Billy House, Harvey Lee House, son, Clyde James Holloway, Lonnie Ray House, great grandchild, Jaydin Torres.

Sammie is survived by his loving wife Gloria of 63 years, Daughters; Janet Austin (Timothy) of Mansfield, Texas, Teresa Bolden (Larry) of Abilene, Texas, Shirley Holloway of Bonham, Texas, Sons; Sammie Holloway Jr. of Port Arthur, Texas,  Antonio Holloway of Austin, Texas, sisters; Charlotte House of Maud, Texas, Ethel Renee Matthews of New Boston, Texas, brothers; Malvin House of Denton, Texas, Gregory House of New Boston, Texas, Tony Lewis House of Texarkana, Texas, James House of New Boston, Texas, grandchildren; Kimberly Austin, Patricia Austin, Adrienne Austin, Jasmine Austin, Micheal Bolden, Ashley Bolden Jefferson, Antonie Bolden, great grandchildren; Timothy Lee Austin,  Joshua Bondo, Bailee Austin, Eboni Bolden, Kynzlee Bolden, Kassidy Bolden, Liam Jefferson, uncle; Samuel Gooden or Texarkana, Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Micheal Bolden, Terry Bluitt, Antonie Bolden, Rodney Wilson, Rev. Adrian Gray, Anthony Phea, Yamis Ransom, Robert Ransom.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Wilson, Vincent Neal, Samuel Gooden, Tony House, Gregory House, James House, Calvin Wilson, Melvin House.

He will lie in state at Wise Funeral Home until January 21, 2022.

Family will have a lunch at the New Home Baptist Church following the services.
