Funeral Services for Elsie "Ruth"Dopson, age 90, of Bonham, TX will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Wise Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, Texas. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Stewart. Interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, Texas. Ruth passed away on June 30, 2017 in Bonham.
She was born September 11, 1926 in Grayson County, Texas to John Benjamin Calhoun and Sallie Blandena Elliott. She enjoyed gardening at was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bonham, Texas
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Lois Elan Dopson, parents, John Benjamin Calhoun & Sallie Elliot Calhoun and 7 Brothers, Garner Calhoun, Carlus Calhoun, Paul Calhoun, Buck Calhoun, J. W. Calhoun, R. L. Calhoun and Delbert Calhoun
4 Sisters, Mary Kathryn Smith, Jennie Smith, Willie Mae Payne and Bertha Ann Hamner.
Surviving family members include, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews
including Shirley Ann Washburn of Bonham, TX
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 6-8 pm Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Wise Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Dawson Stewart, Tommy Miller, Kurt Taylor, R.L. Calhoun, Danny Kennedy, and Ben Smith
