RUBY PILLIOD

Funeral services for Ruby Pilliod, age 92, of Bonham, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 20, 2011 in the First Christian Church, Bonham, Texas under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Pastor Rick Edwards will officiate. Burial will follow in Fannin Memorial Gardens. Ruby passed away late Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011 at Bonham Nursing Center.

Ruby, Memaw, "Shorty", was a special lady to many people with her few words and hard work. She loved to cook and stayed in the kitchen. She enjoyed cleaning, cooking, and organizing at First Christian Church where she had been a member for many years. She put in years of service in retail stores like JC Penney's, was a switchboard operator at the Bonham Phone Company and spent several years at the Fannin County Electric Co-Op. Ruby was a loving Memaw to her grandkids and great grandkids. She made the best homemade macaroni and cheese ever. Many special memories will be kept close to heart. Most of all she stood beside her husband for 70 years of marriage.

Ruby was born July 29, 1919 in Fannin County, Texas, the daughter of Collie Winslow Cobb and Hessie Estella Harrison Cobb. She was a graduate of Bonham High School and married John Allen Pilliod on Dec. 7, 1940. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Joe Carroll Pilliod and a sister, Margaret Pearson.

3 Great Grandchildren, Joe Daulton Pilliod, Jesse Delaney Pilliod and Lilia Graciela Freitas,and Niece, Carolyn Patterson of Paris

Pallbearers will be Donald Smithson, Joe Millhollon, Ray Edwards, David Neal, Malcolm Branch and L.B. Branch. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Elders of First Christian Church, Bonham, Texas.
