Funeral services for Roy Lee Malone, 87, of Bonham, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Mark Posey will officiate. Burial with military honors will be held at 2:15 PM Wednesday in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. Roy passed away Friday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2013 at Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham, Texas.
Roy was born Sept. 28, 1926 in Clarksville, Texas. He was a retired Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Roy served his country during WWII, the Korean War and Vietnam. He married Lou Ellen Harper on Oct. 8, 1964 in Sherman, Texas. Roy loved to go dancing and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also liked reading wildlife magazines and watching football – especially the Dallas Cowboys. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Willie Malone and Benton Malone and one sister, Allie Mae Pecor.
Roy is survived by his wife, Lou Ellen Malone of Blue Ridge; Texas, two daughters, Nanci Ogilvie and Marlena Gale Warthan, both of Gladewater, Texas;
stepchildren, Richard Pope and Margaret Ann Pope Jackson, both of Blue Ridge, Texas; one brother, Bradley Malone of Brownwood, Texas; four grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, 2 step grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
