Graveside services for Roland, McDaniel, 62, of Bonham, will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane C, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211. Services are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Dr. Michael A. Bell will officiate. Roland passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 at Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham.
Roland was born Sept. 28, 1951 in Travis County, Texas, the son of Verna Lee McDaniel. He was a graduate of Centerville ISD and attended Tarrant County Junior College. Roland was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam era. He was a mechanical examiner with the US Treasury from 1992 until 2006 when his health made it necessary to retire. Roland was a faithful member and usher at Greater St. Stephens First Church in Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Roland is survived by his son, Germaine McDaniel of Fort Worth, Texas, a granddaughter, Heavena McDaniel of Fort Worth, Texas,
niece, Joi Newhouse of Arlington, Texas, a sister and a host of other relatives and friends.
