A memorial gathering will be held for Roger Frank Blevins, 61, of Ector from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Northside Church of Christ Activity Center in Bonham. A celebration of life for close friends will follow from 7:30 to 9:30 PM at the residence. Roger passed away Tuesday night, January 20, 2015 at North Texas Health Care – Dallas VA after a courageous battle with cancer
Roger was born October 31, 1953 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Lillian Christeen Stout and Kenneth Hamilton. He was raised by his stepfather, John Robert "Bob" Blevins who became his adoptive father. He was a graduate of high school in Springfield, Missouri and attended SMU in Dallas, Texas. Roger was a US Air Force veteran. He married Michelle Ann Crawford on November 8, 1974 in the Lake Murray Chapel in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Roger was rancher in Montana for many years and started a successful custom painting business, Vida Loca Customs, which he moved to Texas and operated with his wife, Mickey. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. Roger was preceded in death by his adoptive father, his father and a brother, Bobby Blevins.
Roger is survived by his wife of 40 years, Michelle "Mickey" Blevins of Ector, Texas; two daughters and grandsons, Annabell Rose Blevins and her son, Charles Monroe "Charlie" Blevins and Lacy Savannah Blevins and her son, Payton Daniel Blevins, all of Ector, Texas; mother, Lillian Christeen Blevins of Bonham, Texas; two brothers, William Finn Blevins of Bonham, Texas and John Hamilton of Dallas, Texas; 3 nephews and 1 niece; extended family and friends.
