Graveside services for Robert Rodriguez, 77, of Garland, will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Father Arturo Molina will officiate. Roberto passed away at 12:43 AM, Saturday morning, March 7, 2015 at Clyde Cosper Texas State Veterans Home.
Roberto was born June 6, 1937 in Laredo, Texas, son of Felipe Rodriguez and Juana Garza. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, receiving a Bachelors Degree. He married Otilia Gaona Rodriguez in 1962 in San Antonio, Texas. He was a devoted Roman Catholic and attended the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, among other parishes. Roberto was a devoted family man and often worked with his hands, whether it be wood workings or carpentry, he enjoyed fixing things around his estate and farm work at home in his leisure. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Guillermo Rodriguez, and daughter, Leticia Rodriguez.
Roberto is survived by
Daughter: Alma Delia Rodriguez of Rockwall, Texas; Corina Ellis of Arlington, Texas; Vanessa and Thomas Felty of Sahuarita, Arizona and Melissa and Israel Rubio of Arlington, Texas
Grandchildren: Olivia Raquel Lopez, Zachary Rubio, Madison Rubio, Stephanie Rodriguez, Raymond Carlos Rodriguez Jr., Nathaniel Rodriguez, Francisco Rodriguez, Kyle Felty and Brett Robert Felty
Great Granddaughter: Zoey Nicole Holick
Pallbearers will be Kyle Thomas Felty, Brett Robert Felty, Raymond Carlos Rodriguez Jr., Francisco Rodriguez and Nathaniel Rodriguez
A Rosary will be held Monday night, March 9, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Wise Funeral Home.
