Robert Lloyd Martin

Graveside Services for Robert Lloyd Martin, age 95, of Bonham will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday February 5, 2017 at Forest Grove Cemetery in Telephone, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Robert passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017.
He was born April 21, 1921, the son of William Frank Martin and Lelia Neal Martin. Robert joined the Construction Corps program at the age of 15 in order to help provide for his family. He served the country during World War II, first in the US Army, where he was a sharpshooter, then later he served in the US Navy. He enjoyed riding horses, bowling, and especially loved having picnics and fishing with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Frankie Lloyd Martin; brothers, John D. Martin and C.A. Martin; and a sister, Faye Martin.
Robert is survived by his wife of 69 years, Zelma Mae Stroud Martin, whom he married on August 31, 1947 in Tarrant County, TX.; son Larry Don Martin and wife Rahedean of Sherman.
