Robert Michael Griffith

Robert Michael Griffith passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Clyde W. Cosper State Veterans Home after a valiant fight against Alzheimer's Disease.

Robert was born to David Marlin and Ruelene Fern Griffith on December 21, 1949 in Seguin, TX. Robert was a graduate of Reagan High School in Austin, TX. He was a man of courage having enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War as Military Police. He was someone that took great pride in his country and found it a noble calling to defend it. Later in life he had that same desire to serve people by volunteering for Meals On Wheels. He will be fondly remembered for his steadfast courage and willingness to always lend a helping hand. Robert had one of the kindest hearts and soft spoken voices that left its mark on those around him. He was a man of little words but when he spoke you would listen. Family was at the core of who he was. He was devoted to wife Nancy and children Christina and Shane. The family takes great comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his beloved dog that was a faithful companion to Robert for many years.

Robert is preceded in death by parents David Marlin Griffith and Ruelene Fern Griffith. David Marlin met his son Robert in Heaven on the very day he was called home. The Lord took both Father and Son on the exact day just hours apart. He is also preceded in death by his sister Nanci Griffith.

Those left to carry on his memory, wife, Nancy Griffith; daughters, Christina Griffith, Gayla Hutchins; son, Shane Griffith; sister Marlene Griffith; and grandchildren Senora Griffith, Charlotte Griffith, Amber Madden; and stepmother Yvonne Griffith.

The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
