A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel for Michael Klein, age 61, of Bonham, who passed away October 27, 2017 at Texoma Medical Center in Bonham, Texas.
Michael was born on April 1, 1956, in Salida, Colorado; the son of Richard Martin Klein and Carol Nadine Butler Klein. He served two years in the United States Navy. Michael met the love of his life, Jeri, in October 1981. Although they were together exclusively from then on, they married officially on April 25, 1996. Michael and Jeri are members of the United Methodist Church of Chugiak in Alaska, where they lived for almost ten years. He worked as an HVAC Technician and was a member of the Sheet Metal Union. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, and hiking with his grandsons. Michael also enjoyed baking pies, with his yummy flaky homemade crust. Another favorite pastime was watching his beloved Denver Broncos. While touring Invesco Field, Jeri asked two Denver Bronco cheerleaders to pose for a picture with him. Although embarrassed, he agreed without even the slightest hesitation. Michael was a compassionate and selfless man who will be missed by his friends and especially, his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Klein and Carol Carpenter, and his brothers, Eddie Klein and Mark Perdue. Michael is survived by his wife, Jeri, of Bonham, Texas; sons, Chris Klein and wife Cynthia of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Kiley Klein of Dodge City, Kansas; Joshua Klein and wife Barbara of Atkins, Arkansas; Travis Carter and wife Lisa of Bonham, Texas; daughter, Stormy Davis of Bucklin, Kansas. He also is survived by sisters, Donna Wilson and husband Carl of Cottage Grove, Oregon and Diane Christie and husband Steve of Johnstown, Colorado and brother Vernon Perdue and wife Vicki of Dallas, Pennsylvania. He has 12 living grandchildren: Declan, Caiden, and Bralen Klein; Kayli, Cody, and Sebastian Klein; Charlotte, Dakotah, and Cheyenne Davis; and Braeden, Cole, and Lily Carter. Finally, he has one great grandson, five nieces, one nephew, and a host of extended family and friends.
