Richard Allen Lewis

Richard Allen Lewis passed away on January 22, 2025 at his residence in Mesquite, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home in Bonham.

Richard was born on January 28, 1948 in Bonham, TX to George A. Lewis and Eva Mae Nelson Lewis. He was a 1966 Bonham High School Graduate  and went on to pursue a college degree from East Texas State University in Commerce graduating in 1970. While in college he was a member of Acacia Fraternity. Richard was an avid golfer, a lifelong history buff, and collector of all things arrowheads and guns. He was a simple man that kept to himself. He embodied the scripture in 1 Thessalonians 4:11 - make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: mind your own business and work hard with your hands - this was Richard.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Richard is survived by first cousin, Linda K. Nelson Carter, several other relatives, and numerous friends. Please join the family on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 10am for a graveside service at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham.
