August 4, 1947 – November 20, 2025
Richard Wayne Lawson, born on August 4, 1947, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025 at Medical City of McKinney surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, and loving grandfather, Richard led a life filled with purpose, service, and a profound love for his family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.
For over 30 years, Richard made significant contributions to the field of mechanical engineering, working for both Mrs. Beards Bakery and Wonder Bread. His dedication and expertise in his career were matched only by his commitment to his family and the passions that brought him joy outside of work.
Richard proudly served in the United States Navy, where he developed a fierce sense of honor and responsibility that would guide his life for decades to come. To his grandchildren, Richard was more than just a grandparent; he was a cherished companion who created lasting memories watching sports together. In addition to his family, Richard enjoyed various hobbies and interests that enriched his life. He found solace in traveling and explored many places throughout his life. Bowling and golfing were not just pastimes for him; they were opportunities for fellowship and friendly competition. His enjoyment of working on cars demonstrated his hands-on nature, and he took great pride in caring for his yard, where he cultivated a beautiful sanctuary.
Richard Wayne Lawson will be remembered not just for his accomplishments but for the warmth with which he touched the lives of those around him. His legacy will continue through the love he shared and the memories he created with family and friends.
