Obituary

Raul Bargas, who was born on July 4, 1963, and died on June 24, 2026, lived a life marked by faith, hard work, and devotion to family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.

He carried himself with humility, kindness, and a steady strength that others came to rely on. He was the kind of man who showed his love through his actions, and he was known as someone who could always be counted on. His life reflected the values he held dear, including honesty, dedication, and a deep commitment to the people and places he loved.

For 35 years, Raul devoted himself to Bar C Ranch in Ravenna, Texas owned by Ronnie and Cheryl Coonrod, where his strong work ethic and dependable nature made a lasting impression. He took great pride in his work and was respected for being a true hard worker who never shied away from a task. Whether he was fixing something up, lending a hand, or simply getting the job done right, Raul was the kind of man you could count on. His years at the ranch taking care of the cows and cats were a meaningful part of his life, and his presence there will long be remembered by those who worked beside him.

Raul was also known as a fixer upper in the best sense of the word. He had a practical mind, a helpful spirit, and a talent for making things better. He enjoyed working with his hands and taking on projects that allowed him to improve, repair, and restore. That same steady nature carried into every part of his life. He was a man who believed in doing things well and in helping others whenever he could.

Above all else, Raul was a family man. He loved being surrounded by his big family, and he found great joy in the closeness and connection that family brought him. He was devoted, loving, and proud of the role he played in the lives of those around him. One of his greatest joys was being PePaw, a title he wore with deep affection and pride. His grandchildren and family members knew him as someone who brought laughter, comfort, and a strong sense of belonging. His love for his family was steady and genuine, and it was clear to all that they meant the world to him.

Raul also had a wonderful sense of humor that made him a joy to be around. He had a way of brightening a room and making others feel at ease. His friends and loved ones remember him as a friend to everyone, someone who welcomed people warmly and treated them with kindness and respect. He had a gift for connection, and his easygoing nature helped him build lasting relationships throughout his life. Many will remember his laughter, his stories, and the simple pleasure of spending time in his company. He loved being outdoors and found happiness in the freedom of open spaces. Whether he was spending time outside or riding on the boat, Raul enjoyed the moments that allowed him to relax and take in the world around him.

He will be forever remembered by his devoted wife, Shelia Bargas, children, Shawna Earl (Roland), Krista Simpson (Phillip), Rudy Ramirez (Amber), siblings, Juan Vargas Camacho, Genoveva Vargas Camacho, Juana Vargas Camacho, Elvira Vargas Camacho, Arturo Vargas Camacho, Maria Vargas Camacho, Ester Vargas, Jorge Vargas Camacho, nephews, Carlos Salinas (Veronica), Pedro Torres, nieces, Diana Salinas, Andrea Salinas, great- nephew, Pedro Torres Jr. Brianna, grandchildren, Hailey (Saul), Maycee (Nathan), Autumn (Trey), Seth, Summer, Devin, Raegan, Jaelyn, step grandchildren, Jantze, Guage, Able, great-grandchildren, Enzo, Sawyer, and a host of extended family and friends.
