Funeral Services for Rachel Brent Deary, age 97, of Bonham will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Wise Funeral Home. Brother Mark Posey will officiate. Burial will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery. Rachel passed away Friday, May 6, 2016.
Rachel was born on October 13, 1918, the daughter Lonnie Brent and Ora Inas Moreland Brent. She was a 1937 graduate of Gober High School. Rachel married Clarence Harland "Busi" Deary on November 4, 1939 in Durant, Oklahoma. She was a long-time member of the Congregational Methodist Church. She loved the church and was very committed to her work there. Rachel was a sports enthusiast. She enjoyed watching all genres and could even give some of the boys a run for their money when discussing sports. She kept up with the ever changing world of politics and was always ready to cast her vote at the polls. She was a witty, funny, and strong woman. Rachel is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, L. C. Brent, sisters, Arene McDowell, Ethel Price, and Alberta Whitworth, and a nephew, Lonnie Whitworth.
Rachel is survived by her Nieces, Betty Brown of Garland, Texas, Faye Piland of Sherman, Texas, and Jeanie Jones of Garland Texas; Nephew, Floyd Earl Brent of Carrollton, Texas; special friend Lois McMahan; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016.
