At one time, she had charted the most volunteer hours with this organization. Polly was also a Charter member of the Friends of Sam Rayburn and led tours at the Sam Rayburn House for many years. She was a member of Ector Baptist Church for more than 60 years and was a longtime member of the Eastern Star. Polly was an active member of the Fannin County Democratic Women and served as an election judge for many years for the City of Ector as well as the Primary and General Elections. A few years ago, Polly rode in a parade in Ector and was honored as their longest living citizen. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Watt Ownby, Leslie Ownby, Edward Ownby, Guy Ownby and R. L. "Sandy" Ownby; and one sister, Thelma Ownby Clark.

Polly is survived by her sister, Addran Piott of Trenton, Texas;
