A visitation for Phillip and Betty Richardson of the Lamasco Community of Fannin County, Texas will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, Aug. 13, 2021 at Wise Funeral Home. Masks are required. A private inurnment will be held in Lamasco Cemetery as a later date. Phillip and Betty passed away early Saturday morning, Aug. 7, 2021 in an accident in Hunt County.
Phillip Ray Richardson was born April 1, 1942 in Hart, Oklahoma, the son of James Walter Richardson and Juanita Johnson Richardson. He married Betty Lorene Gouge on June 10, 1961 in Denison, Texas. He was a self employed logger and truck driver for many years.
Betty Lorene Richardson was born Aug 4, 1943 in Denison, Texas, the daughter of Cletus Yiser Gouge and Pearl Kelly Gouge. She was a graduate of Denison High School. She was a homemaker and a loving mother.
Phillip met Betty as a young man, and he knew she was the one. As years passed he conquered her heart. That led to a life of 60 years of a wonderful and beautiful marriage. They remained loyal and constant companions until death.
Phillip and Betty were preceded in death by their respective parents, a son, Eric Paul Richardson (1988) and a grandson, Nicholas Richardson. Betty was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Gouge and Larry Gouge.
Phillip and Betty are survived by three sons, Steven Richardson (Susan) of Ivanhoe, TX, Wesley Alan Richardson (Jean) and Phillip Brandon Richardson (Tracey) all of Quakertown, PA and two daughters, Paula Lynette Morris of Midland, TX and Barbara Gail McLain of Denison, TX; 10 grandchildren, Jacqueline, Zachary, Joshua, and Jordan Morris, Brandi and Megan McLain, Steven, Patrick, Jessica, and Austin Richardson; 15 great grandchildren, Jaxcen, Jack, Saylor and Wilder Morris, Jace Hernandez, Aubrie and Zane McLain, McKenzie, Ava, Ryan Karston, Ethan, Lexi, Connor and Jaden Richardson. Phillip is also survived by a brother, Donald James Richardson (Pam) of the Carson Community of Fannin County, TX and two sisters, Juanita Harris (Danny) of Tom Bean, TX and Deanna Easley (Keith) of Midland, TX. Betty also leaves behind a sister, Caroline Gouge Lay of Denison, TX.
The couple were Jehovah Witnesses active in the Bonham Congregation.
