Patrick Dewayne Stauber, passed away on April 13, 2026, in Bonham, Texas, at the age of 58 with his wife Patsy by his side. Arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.
He was born on September 4, 1967, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Pat and Charlene Stauber and from the beginning he carried the spirited, funny, and analytical nature that would come to define his life. Patrick was a man of remarkable intelligence and presence, his humor, warmth, and devotion left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Patrick pursued his education with determination and excellence. He earned a degree in electrical engineering and later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas. His education reflected both his sharp mind and his commitment to understanding the world around him. He went on to build a respected career as a lawyer and attorney, using his knowledge, insight, and steady judgment in service to others. Those who worked with him knew him as someone who could think quickly, solve problems thoughtfully, and approach challenges with both skill and common sense. After practicing law, he transitioned into a successful career in web development as a Senior Consultant with Software AG. In this role, he contributed to software development projects for a wide range of clients, including the Alaska Department of Transportation and other major organizations across the United States. A forward thinker, he was actively involved in several cutting edge start up ventures during the early days of internet. He went on to found multiple online businesses including SimDetective and SimAuction.com, along with many ventures that reflected his entrepreneurial spirit and vision.
Beyond his professional life, Patrick lived a life full of humor and love. He had a gift for making people laugh and for bringing light into any room he entered. He was quick witted, deeply caring, and always ready with a story, a clever remark, or a thoughtful answer. He was a storyteller at heart, and his stories were often delivered with the kind of charm and timing that only he could manage. He enjoyed telling tall tells just to see your reaction.
Patrick enjoyed many things in life, and he embraced them with enthusiasm. He loved cooking, reading, and online researching, always eager to learn something new or discover a better way to do something. He enjoyed stock trading, road trips, and going to flea markets, where he found both interest and enjoyment in the search for something unexpected. He was an avid movie watcher and taking adventures with his sons, moments that brought him great joy and created lasting memories. He also played the trumpet, adding music to a life already rich and deeply fulfilled.
He was a man who took care of everyone. Patrick had a generous spirit and a steady heart, and people naturally turned to him because they knew they could count on him. Whether offering guidance, a helping hand, or simply his time and attention, he gave freely and sincerely. He loved giving to the children’s center, reflecting his compassion and his desire to make life better for others. His kindness was not loud or showy, but constant and dependable, and it touched many lives, including his mom and sister Janice in quiet but meaningful ways.
Patrick also had a deep appreciation for good food, especially prime rib, crab legs, holiday meals, and sauerkraut, which he loved with enthusiasm. Meals, conversation, and shared time with family and friends were among the simple pleasures he valued most. He found joy in the everyday, and he knew how to make ordinary moments feel special. His love of life was evident in the way he lived it, with curiosity, humor, and a genuine appreciation for the people around him.
He was devoted to his wife and family, and that devotion was one of the defining truths of his life. He loved them deeply and stood beside them with loyalty, strength, and tenderness. His family was the center of his world, and he gave them his heart in full. The bonds he built with them were strong, enduring, and filled with love. His legacy will live on in the memories they carry, in the lessons he taught, and in the laughter he inspired.
Patrick will be remembered for his intelligence, his wit, his generosity, and his unwavering care for others. He was a man of substance and spirit, someone whose life was marked by hard work, devotion, and a rare ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and strength that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
