Funeral services for Opal Faye Morrison, 80, of Savoy, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 22, 2015 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, Texas. Bro. Mark Posey will officiate. Burial will follow at the graveside at 4:00 PM Sunday at Van Alstyne Cemetery. Opal passed away Wednesday night, March 18, 2015 at her residence.
Opal was born September 19, 1934 in Van Alstyne, Texas, the daughter of Killis Hunter and Irene Polston Hunter. She was a graduate of Van Alstyne High School and Grayson County College. Opal married Thomas Charles Morrison on Aug. 3, 1952 and he preceded her in death Apr. 4, 1995. She was an administrator in a long-term care facility for many years. Opal was a Baptist and loved spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, David Morrison and siblings, Harry, Wallace, Howard and Little Robert.
Opal is survived by two sons, Tommy Morrison of Dallas, TX and Raymond Morrison (Dottie) of Sherman, TX; two daughters, Terri Hill (Ernie) of Savoy, TX and Debbie Renteria (Arthur) of Celina, TX; a brother, Junior Hunter (Marie) of Van Alstyne, TX; three sisters, Jimmie Griffin and Dean Hertzog both of Sherman, TX and Darlene Stevens of Bonham, TX; 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be David Morrison, Jr., Joshua Morrison, Michael Morrison, Kyle Morrison, Justin Morrison, Jonathan Witte and Brandon Witte.
