Edhube

Norma Jean Weeks, longtime resident of the Edhube community, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 28, 2020. Graveside service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at the Hampton Cemetery in Edhube.

Norma Jean Weeks was born May 26, 1939 in Dallas, Texas to Harry Delos and Ruby Nell (Pelton) Bowles. She graduated early from Garland High School in 1957, where she was a "Dashing Deb" and an incredibly amazing roller skater. She married young and it lasted 17 years. She raised three daughters, becoming a master cookie maker, stained glass creator and craftsperson extraordinair in the process. In 1975 she married James Weeks. At that time, she found she was extremely capable in mechanical and business matters, excelling in both, which she applied to their business endeavors.  She loved travel, Bahama Mamas, Madea, Harleys, Rock & Roll (AC/DC), and riding in fast cars. She liked to surprise people by having Vanilla Ice's "Ice, Ice Baby" as her ringtone. She was a natural gardener, enjoying planting, sharing cuttings and seeds with people she cared for. She collected Angels and created a Grandma school for 4 of her great-grandchildren, which has led to their incredible success in public school and in local pageants. She had a wicked sense of humor and love of life which is evident in all her descendants. She lives on in that way through them all. Life will not be the same without her and we will all miss her dearly.

Norma Weeks  is survived by daughters Karen Corley of Bonham, Donna Kay Eskue and husband David of Telephone and Karla Farris and husband Terry of Ivanhoe; 8 grandchildren- Dustin Bewley and wife Leslie of Princeton, Christy Capehart of Ravenna, Jennifer Morris and husband Josh of Ector, Sarah Redding of Edhube, Jeremy Capehart and wife Katie of Bonham, Katie Atencio and husband Jesus of Princeton, Rachael Eskue of Addison and Dylan Farris of Ivanhoe; and 11 great-grandchildren- Dakota, Melissa, Harlin and Anna Bewley; Blake and Bridgette Capehart; Tatom and Chesney Robinson; and Jacob, Sadie and Evelyn Capehart. She is preceded in death by her husband, James L Weeks and two granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be Terry Farris, Jeremy Capehart, David Eskue, Jesus Atencio, and Josh Morris.
