Norma Jean Burgess

Norma Burgess, age 90 of Grand Prairie, TX passed away on February 4, 2019 at the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Nursing Home in Bonham, Texas.  She was born November 18, 1928 in Kansas City, Kansas to Oscar Latimer Smith & Agnes Cecelia Smith.

A private inurnment will take place at the Dallas Forth National Cemetery.

Norma married James William Burgess on June 17, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas and she enjoyed hiking, movies, shopping, swimming, skiing, boating, fishing, Christmas time and decorating for her family.  She was a member of the Silver Sneakers Club at the YMCA.  She was a member of the Catholic Church.  She kept her family together during hard times and was a very patient and loving caregiver to all that she knew.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Latimer Smith & Agnes Cecelia Smith; Daughter, Diana Lynn Burgess and grandson Billy Wright IV and sister, Madge Agnes Parker.

Surviving are her husband of 68 years, James "Jim" William Burgess; daughter, Linda Burgess; two sons, Brian and Debbie Burgess

Bruce Burgess; eight grandchildren, Travis and Aaron Saint, Mark and Crystal Burgess, Kyle Burgess, Nicholas Burgess, twins Caroline Burgess and Brooke Burgess; two great-grandchildren, Gia Camille Saint and George William Saint
