Nicolas Santana "Niko" Gamez

June 11, 1962 — January 16, 2023

A visitation will be held at Wise Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday night, January 20, 2023 for Nicolas Santana "Niko" Gamez, age 60, of Bonham.  Nicolas will return to his family in Mante, Tamaulipas, Mexico.  There he will be laid to rest.  Nicolas passed away Monday night in Fannin County, Texas.

Nicolas Santana Gamez was born November 6, 1962, the son of Julia Santana Gamez.  He was very family oriented and loved to work.  For the past 38 years, he has worked for the Kueckelhan Ranch and Kueckelhan Ranch Rodeo in Fannin County, Texas, where he loved the ranch and rodeos. In a short time Nicolas became a part of the Kueckelhan family. He was so kind, loving, and loyal, to all of us, and anyone that was in his life.  Nicolas read his Bible daily, and every Tuesday night he attended a Bible study in Bokchito, Oklahoma.  He enjoyed spiritual music and helping others.

Nicolas was preceded in death by brothers, Martin Santana Gamez and Florentino Montano Santana.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Margarita Ruiz Cano of Mante, mother, Julia Santana Gamez, brother, Juan Manuel Santana Gamez of Mulberry, Texas, sons, Leonardo Nicolas Santana Ruiz and Eduardo Daniel Santana Ruiz and wife, Sofia Cabello Larumbe, all of Monterrey, Mexico, daughters, Roxana Sarahi Santana Ruiz of Mante, Genesis Marnic Santana Ruiz and husband, Omar Alonso Martinez of Monterrey and Britannia Margarita Santana Ruiz of Mante, grandchildren, Mia Nicole Santana Moreno, Lester Daniel Santana Ruiz, Samira Viridiana Santana Castillo, Xiomara Marnic Santana Alonso, and Sara Danielle Santana Cabello and the Kueckelhan Family of Bonham, Fannin County, Texas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Diego Cruz, Keith Dickey, Brian Hardy, Dusty (Rope) Irwin, Quincy Kueckelhan, Marty Kueckelhan, and Gabriel.

There will be a Memory Box available at Wise Funeral Home for cards and memorial contributions.  Donations are not for the funeral expenses and will be given directly to the family.  If you choose to make a donation, please include your name and address on your card so that the family can acknowledge the gift.
