Myrtle Marie Reed

At 102 and a half years old Heaven gained another angel; our precious mother and granny went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 6, 2023. Please join the family in honoring her life on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00 am with visitation 1 hour prior to service at Trinity Baptist Church, Bonham, TX. Burial will follow at Lamasco Cemetery.

Myrtle Marie Stephens Reed, a lifelong Fannin County resident was born September 20, 1920 in Ivanhoe, TX, the daughter of James Edward and Sammie Myrtle Bingham Stephens. She was a 1940 graduate of Bonham High School and attended Paris Junior College. She married R.L Reed on August 25, 1946 and he preceded her in death, August 18, 1975. She was a nursing assistant in Bonham for a number of years. Marie was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Builders Sunday School class. In her spare time, she wrote poetry and had a book of her poems published in 2020. She loved everyone she met and was known as "Granny" by many. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Donna Keeton, grandson Casey Reed, great grandson Caleb Stevens, grandson in law Billy Roberts, great great granddaughter Penny, brothers and sisters in laws Johnnie Stephens, Orland and Mildred Stephens, Almer Joe and Ina Faye Stephens, Vernon and Ruby Stephens, Ed Ray and Kitty Stephens, Claude Stephens and Doris, sister and brother in law Laura and Robert Keene.
