Funeral Services for Myrtle Margaret Jennings, age 93, of Dodd City will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 19th, 2016 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Bro. Gene Owens will officiate. Private committal will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery. She passed away Friday, December 16, 2016.
Myrtle was born January 18, 1923, the daughter of Earnest Stevens and Pearl Richards Stevens. She attended Hilger school and later received her GED. In 1939, she married Virgil Tipton Jennings and he preceded her in death in 2005. Myrtle was a member of Central Baptist Church and loved to cook, can pickles, and sew. She worked at the Cotton Mill and North East Medical Center where she retired in 1988. Myrtle is preceded in death by a son, Steve Jennings; brothers, T.S. Stevens, Ernest Stevens, and Weldon Stevens; and a sister, Dessie Hassey.
Myrtle is survived by a daughter, Pat Kuhn, of Dodd City; grandsons, Kelly Nelms, Michael and Steven Jennings and many great and great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bennie Johnson, Billy Nelms, Mike Hintergardt,Tim Meek, David Nichols and Dennis Nelms.
The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until service time Monday, December 19th, 2016.
