Michael "Mike" Wayne Johnston

Michael "Mike" Wayne Johnston passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2023.

Mike was born to parents Charlie "Chily" and Francine Johnston on June 25, 1953 in Bonham, Tx. He married the love of his life Debbie Calaway on June 6, 1975 at Duplex Baptist Church. Mike was an avid hog hunter, fisherman, and farmer by trade. He enjoyed the peaceful moments of solitude while plowing his fields and chasing sunsets with his wife. Mike was one of the founding elders at Bois D' Arc Creek Cowboy Church and had strong faith in Jesus Christ. His devotion and faith was seen in his unwavering love for his family and faithfulness to his church home. Mike enjoyed serving his community by joining the Volunteer Fire Departments in both Telephone and North Fannin.

Mike is preceded in death by parents Chily and Francine Johnston.

Those left to cherish his memory wife, Debbie Johnston; son, Ryan and wife Ashley; daughter, Courtney Cooper; and grandchildren, Coda Myers, Layne Cooper, Case Cooper, Weston Johnston, Halle Johnston, and Bentley Johnston.

Please join the family to honor the life of Mike on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 2:00pm with a 1:00pm visitation at Bois D' Arc Creek Cowboy Church, Bonham, Tx. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery, Ivanhoe, Tx.
