Michael O'Shea Warren (1947-2023)
Michael O'Shea Warren, 77, of Ravenna, Texas, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, September 10, 2023. The oldest of three brothers, Michael was born in Bonham, TX, on June 23, 1947 to Clifford Lee Warren and Clara Ruth Epley Warren.
As a teenager, Michael worked in the family's grocery store. Michael attended East Texas State University. He served in the Texas Department of Public Safety, first as a state trooper and then in the Intelligence Division. After retiring from the DPS with twenty years' service, he continued his education, specializing in Psychiatry, and worked as a Psychological Diagnostician. Michael then taught special education at Gilbert Elementary in Irving, before returning to Fannin County. He finished his teaching career at Buster Cole State Prison. He also taught Sunday School at First
United Methodist Church in Bonham for many years and was active in several Bible study groups. Michael had many hobbies, including tropical fish, photography, and gardening. He had a long-time passion for ham radio and, more recently, had become engrossed in researching his family ancestry. He was able to trace family history back to the 1500s. Michael married Patti Thomas. Born to that marriage are two daughters, Rachael and Rebekah.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Kelley.
He is survived by his daughters, Rachael Lee Warren and Rebekah Amber Moss and husband, Jeremy; his granddaughter, Clara June Moss; his brother, Patrick Anthony Warren and wife, Lou Ann; his sister-in-law, Judy Warren; nieces and nephews; close family friends, Heaston and Valerie Gentry; and many other relatives and friends. Michael will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched.
A funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Bonham on Sunday, September 17, at 3:00. The family will be at the church from 2:00 until the start of service for visitation. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery.
