Melba Jean Brockette

Graveside services for Mrs. Melba Jean Brockette, age 88, will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Willow Wild Cemetery under the care of Wise Funeral Home.  Chaplain Mike Burt will officiate.  Mrs. Brockette passed away on April 4, 2021 in Arlington, Texas.

She was born on October 1, 1932 in Bonham, Texas, the daughter of Homer Rice and Lela Mae (Atkins) Rice.  Melba was of the Baptist faith and was a secretary by trade.  Melba enjoyed her crossword puzzles and reading.  She married W.A. Brockette on March 10, 1981 and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Richard, Louis and Ray Rice, along with her sister, Billie Morris.

She is survived by her sister, Mavis McKinney of Pottsboro and numerous extended family and a host of friends.
