It is with a profound sense of loss that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Ann Johnson on July 8, 2025, just a week shy of her 64th birthday. Arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home in Bonham.

Mary life was a testament to her unwavering faith. Her beliefs guided her every action, and her bible, a constant companion since childhood, will accompany her on her final journey.

Her heart of gold was never more evident than in her youth when she helped raise her siblings. This act of selflessness was a precursor to the many ways in which Mary would touch the lives of others. Her gentle and quiet spirit was a source of comfort and strength to her family,and her presence was a sanctuary of peace in a bustling world.

Mary had an array of interests that reflected her love for the simple joys of life. An avid crafter, she found delight in creating beautiful things with her hands. Her love for puzzles mirrored her approach to life—patient and thoughtful. Animals and plants were dear to her as well.

As a private person, Mary never sought the limelight, yet her actions often placed her at the heart of her family. Her legacy is one of quiet strength, a reminder that the most profound impacts are often made without fanfare. Mary will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Johnson, and parents, Charles and Margaret Yancey.

She is survived by children, Ammy Sterling(Terry), Samantha Smith, Leigh Ann Smith, Will Smith(Lindsey), granddaughter, Carrigan Sterling, siblings, James Yancey(Jere), Allen Yancey, and Debbie Henry(Ronny).

A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, July 11, 2025 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel at 10am. Burial will follow at Ladonia Cemetery with Bro. Michael Davis officiating.
