Martha Richards

Martha Ann Richards passed into the loving arms of her heavenly father on April 13, 2024. She went peacefully in the comfort of her home with her devoted family by her side. Arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.

Martha met the man of her dreams, Ernie Richards and they were married on February 1, 1969. Her steadfast faith in God sustained her as she raised her children and grandchildren. Martha was an excellent cook; she loved cooking for her large family, church family, and all of her friends. Some of their fondest memories with Martha were made around the kitchen table. Martha also enjoyed traveling, lake life, and shopping. Her favorite times were spent in a canoe, or floating the river. Martha's faith in Jesus was evident in how she taught others about forgiveness and understanding. Time and time again she would inspire those around her by the kindness and love that was shown. Martha's legacy will live on in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Judy Hutsell, Arlie Hutsell, Thomas Reagan Vance, sisters, Shirley Pannell, Tootsie Rebecca Palmer, and granddaughter, Lauren Crowell.

She is survived by husband of 55 years, Ernie Richards, daughter, Judith Hix and husband Alan, son, Joel Richards and wife Sarah,  brother, Eli Grayson, sister, Beverly Payne, grandchildren, James and Chelsey Speed, David Speed, Suzanne Wine and husband Daniel, Joel Lee, Kaylin Richards, Alianna Richards, great grandchildren, Scout Speed, Trace Speed, Andrew Wine, and Alison Wine.

Please join the family to honor the life of Martha on April 16, 2024 at 12:00pm at Wise Valley Chapel, 219 W. Sam Rayburn Dr, Bonham, TX. Burial will follow at Carson Cemetery, Savoy, TX.
