Graveside services for Martha Ann Cooper, 83, of Bonham, will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Willow Wild Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Derrell Hall will officiate. Martha passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 12, 2016 at Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham.
Martha was born September 17, 1932 in Bonham, Texas, the daughter of Joseph Clarence Burnett and Nellie Pearl Herriage Burnett. She was a graduate of Bonham High School and a member of First Baptist Church. Martha married Lonnie Gene Cooper on Aug. 9, 1953 in Bonham, and he preceded her in death Nov. 8, 1995. She was employed in the Fannin County Clerk's office for many years and retired as Chief Deputy Clerk. She enjoyed fishing and working with early voting following her retirement. A true 'people person', Martha always greeted everyone with a smile. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Christi Lea Cooper (1971), a sister, Joyce Edwards and twin sister, Nelda Jo Burnett and a grandson, Khristopher Shane Barnes.
Martha is survived by three Sons, Joe Cooper and Tim Cooper, both of Bonham, Texas and Michael Cooper of Jefferson, Texas; one Daughter, Suzanne Stowe and husband, Johnny of Bonham, Texas; Sister-in-law, Betty Joan Tarbet of Hurst, Texas; Grandchildren, Jason Barnes (Monica), Shelly Godwin (Daniel), Jeremy Barnes (Brittany), and Ashley Martin; Great Grandchildren, Brayden Cantrell, Major Cantrell, Cohen Cantrell, Colby Godwin, Addie Godwin, Coby Barnes, Adin Barnes, Braedyn Petty, Chelsi Petty, Abbie Dorris, Bailee Dorris, Raelyn Barnes and Wyatt Martin
Pallbearers will be grandsons and family.
