Marshall Paul, the eldest and Patriarch of the Marshall H. Pease family, has lived in Bonham, Texas for 70 years as an outstanding and productive citizen. After leaving his birthplace in Gober, Texas, he settled in Bonham. Here, he met and married the lovely Freddie Mae Wilson. To this union, seven children were born. He worked for the General Cable Corporation, Paring Operations Division, for more than four decades before retiring.
Mr. Phea was a free-spirit with a beautiful smile who enjoyed interacting with others, eating good food, particularly fish, driving his Cadillac, and attending church. At the time of his death, he was the oldest member of Bradford Chapel AME Church, Bonham. TX., having joined the congregation at the age of sixteen. One of his favorite responses when asked how he was doing was, "If I were doing any better, I would have to take something for it!" He adored the Lord and testified continuously to the goodness of God despite everything.
His wife: Freddie Mae Wilson Phea, parents: Marshall and Gertrude Winston Pease, two brothers: Joe W. Pease Sr., and Malcom Pease (Dump), one son: Marshall Paul Phea Jr., and one daughter: Velma Jean Phea, preceded him in death. He is survived by two sisters, Lucille Copeland, (Altus, OK) and Jenett Pease Rogers (Robert), (Ardmore, OK), and four brothers, Donald Pease (Elna), Atlanta, GA, Ronald Pease (Altus, OK), J. B. Pease (Lawton, OK), and JT Pease (Terrell, TX). In addition, he leaves his greatest legacy of love to his nine cherished children: Deborah McKay, Witchita Falls, TX, Anthony Phea, Sherman, TX, Freda Smith (Anthony), Forney, TX, Denise Lawson (Kevin), Houston, TX, Freddy Phea (Nicole) Atlanta, TX, Victoria Hubbard (Kenyon), New Boston, TX, Sandra K. Williams and Tristie Wilson, Bonham, TX, Julius Williams (Bug), Dallas, TX., and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as a multitude of other family members and friends.
