Mamie Jo Brown

Graveside services for Mamie Jo Brown, 92, of Dallas, formerly of Gober will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 in the family plot at Arledge Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Chaplain Jeremy Loy will officiate. Mamie Jo passed away Monday night, Dec. 13, 2010 at The Madison on Marsh in Carrollton.

Mamie Jo was born January 22, 1918 in Gober, Texas, daughter of the late Thomas Crockett Martin and Minnie Bell Claxton Martin. She was a graduate of Gober High School, nursing school, and was a longtime nurse. She worked for Seven Oaks Nursing Home for 24 years until she retired to move to Dallas with her daughter, and take care of her great granddaughter.

Mamie Jo is survived by an only daughter, Lynn Brown Blassingame; granddaughter, Lisa Blassingame Yociss and husband, Ronald; grandson, Mark Alan Blassingame; and great granddaughter, Megan Sarah Yociss. She is also survived by her only niece, Reba Martin Quine, daughter of the late James Leeman Martin, and her husband, Hilton Quine and their family, Traci Talley Allen, Glenn Allen and their children, Emily Highwood, Christopher Allen and Russell Allen.

The family will meet at the graveside on the day of the service. Mamie Jo will be in state at Wise Funeral Home Wednesday and Thursday.
